Session summary

In the evolving landscape of language education, student autonomy is more than just learner independence—it's about empowering students to take ownership of their communicative competence. This dynamic webinar explores the often-overlooked role of output in fostering autonomy in the language classroom. Participants will gain a clear understanding of how output contributes to second language acquisition and its impact on learner autonomy. They will explore various types of output, ranging from mechanical drills to meaningful, communicative tasks, and examine how each supports language development. The session will guide educators in transforming traditional exercises into engaging, communicative output experiences that promote real-world language use. Teachers will also learn to design and implement output-rich tasks that encourage students to take initiative, make choices, and reflect on their language learning process. Whether you're new to communicative language teaching or looking to deepen your practice, this session will equip you with practical strategies to make output a powerful driver of student autonomy.
