Discover the first International Baccalaureate (IB) course developed by a global publisher specialized in Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE), designed to foster the acquisition of communicative skills and prepare students for the Ab Initio Diploma Programme.
This innovative textbook has been designed for teaching Spanish in accordance with the pedagogical principles of the International Baccalaureate (IB). Our goal is for students not only to master the language, but also to be effectively prepared to succeed in IB assessments and to become global citizens with a critical and multicultural mindset.
What makes it different?
Active and experiential methodology: Each unit engages students from the very beginning with inductive activities that spark curiosity and prepare them for key content.
CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service), Extended Essay, and Theory of Knowledge: Integrates the core components of the programme and teaching and learning approaches aligned with IB standards.
Comprehensive IB preparation: The “Getting Ready for the IB” and “Consolidate” sections provide opportunities to practice with tasks that simulate exam conditions, building confidence and improving outcomes.
Culture and communication: In addition to language acquisition, students are immersed in diverse Spanish-speaking cultures through the “Explore Culture” section, fostering essential intercultural competence.
Connection to the SDGs: Each unit culminates in a CAS project aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), connecting learning to real-world issues.
More than just a Spanish textbook—a global education.
Throughout the course, students explore the five IB themes—Identities, Experiences, Human Ingenuity, Social Organization, and Sharing the Planet—equipping them with the linguistic and cultural tools needed to face challenges both in and out of the classroom.
This intercultural and global approach makes Español Internacional Ab Initio much more than academic preparation: it is an invitation to become part of an international community of citizens ready to act with awareness and respect in an increasingly interconnected world.
